Joe's friend, Sara has the sweetest mom. Judy and I have never met this woman or even talked to her on the phone, but you know what she did? She made a quilt for baby. That's right, she took the time to actually make a quilt for our little one. She didn't stop there. She also bought the baby an outfit. The outfit is great, but the quilt is simply magnificient.
THANK YOU!! You rock!
Tom and Judy
Hoc accepted a promotion with Morgan Stanley a few months ago. He left for New York at 7 o'clock this morning and begins his new gig tomorrow.
Bro, we're happy and excited for you and wish you the best.
"We have awakened a sleeping giant and have instilled in him a terrible resolve"
The above is of course the famous quote by Admiral Yamamoto of the Japanese Combined Fleet after learning of the successful attack on Pearl Harbor. It came to mind after receiving a disturbing email from my not-so-well-in-the-head brother in law, Hoc.
Hoc, you're no David, and you're no giant killer.
Here's what my too big for his britches brother had to say in reply to my C&C post on Feb. 13, 2003:
You know, after you get beaten to a pulp, you're going to have to post a big rebuttal
to the world. May I suggest something like "I can't take the beatings I'm
getting from Hoc everyday in Generals. My body and mind are in a state of
massive dysfunction. I don't know what is day, what is night. Heck,
sometimes after work, I don't even know where my house is. I'm so lost. I
mean, in Generals, I don't even know what my first move is anymore. I feel
he will beat me no matter what I do. . . . ". I actually pity you.

Hoc, IT'S ON!!
Have you guys been following the tv show '24'? It stars Kiefer Sutherland. He plays a Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) agent. The show is real time, so the entire season covers one day. I watched a few minutes of it last season, but couldn't really get into it. Well, this guy at work (Watson) is convinced that 24 is the best thing since sliced bread. He has season 1 and all of season 2 so far on tape and brought it in for me to watch. I put it off for a week, and finally started watching it this weekend, and you know what? It ain't bad! I've only watched 3 or 4 episodes so far, and would really like to finish watching the rest. Unfortunately tomorrow is his last day. He's pretty close buddies with another guy at work, so maybe he'll let me hold onto the tapes for another week. I can give them to his buddy to give to Watson for me. Yessss, that's the ticket.
I installed Movable Type (MT) today. What is MT? Taken from the MT website:
It is a decentralized, web-based personal publishing system designed to ease maintenance of regularly updated news or journal sites, like weblogs.
What does that mean? It means that you guys can update this site too!
If you have something that you'd like to share with the family, you can submit an entry to this journal just as easily as myself or Judy. You don't need to know how to program as you'll only need to fill out a form and click save.
Drop me an email if you are interested in publishing to this site.
I bought C&C today. C&C is a real time strategy game for the PC. It's something like the 4th or 5th installment of the series? The multiplayer should be a blast! If you guys want to get spanked, err um, want to play, drop me an email. C'mon, Hoc! What chu got?!
Judy and I are in our 5th week of dance class. It's a 10 week class offered through the park district. The first two weeks covered the Fox Trot followed by two weeks of the Waltz. This week we started Swing.
We're having a ball!
Judy and I arrived in Chitown a week ago today. It was great to see everyone again. Ma hooked us up with eggrolls and ban bao. Hmmm, hmmm. Good stuff. Not to be outdone, dad whipped up a mean shrimp alfredo. There's nothing like your parents' cooking.
Judy and I went for our 4th ultrasound yesterday. We found out we're having a baby girl.
Judy called it. She said that she had a feeling we were having a girl. Good call, babe.
At first Judy said that she did not even want to know the sex. Lucky for me I'm persistent. I was able to wear her down :).
What's up, Jones, Randolph, and Nguyen families?! Judy and I finally got around to registering a domain name. It'll probably be a while before we get settled in.
It's been hard to keep in touch over the years with the busyness of life and all, so I hope this website provides a cheap, quick way for us all to keep abreast of the goings-on in one anothers' lives.
Our email addresses are trey and judy.
