Old School

I was just checking my server logs and saw that someone is using Internet Explorer 4.

4!!!

Say it ain't so?!? C'mon, fess up. Who is using the old school browser? Mom? j/k.

Whoever it is, I hope the site renders properly for you. Please upgrade, preferably to Mozilla.

Also, it looks like Ann (Judy's cousin) has been checking us out from campus. What's up, Ann? How's school? Aaron (Ann's boyfriend and family handyman), how's mechanic school?

Peyton Taken To ER

As some of you may or may not know, Melissa and Tommy had a bit of a scare recently. Peyton had some trouble breathing and it was after hours so couldn't take him to see his doctor. Therefore, they had to take him to the ER.

Thank goodness kids are resilient little buggers, and he is doing much better now. Melissa sent a couple of new pics. Hopefully one day soon I'll put up a photo/movie gallery. What do you guys think would be a good URL? photos.jonesjournal.com, media.jonesjournal.com??

Seriously. I want to know what you think. Stop being shy and email me or Judy sometime with your thoughts on the site, personal blurbs you'd like posted for everyone to see, or just to say hi.

Sick?

I felt okay during my run last night, but by the time that I woke up I was not feeling too great. I hope that I am not coming down with something as I need every day I can get to train for that 8K next month. It's a little after midnight. I should probably go hit the hay and give my body a chance to heal before I really get sick. Plus we have church and a bunch of painting to do tomorrow.

Music

I picked up the latest Fred Hammond (Speak Those Things: POL Chapter 3) and Donnie McClurkin (...again). I'm probably digging Fred a little more than Donnie right now. I probably just need to give Donnie a little more listening time.

What are you guys listening to? Any recommendations? Shoot me an email or share it with everyone in the comments section.

Armageddon

By now everyone has heard of the Left Behind series. It is a 12 book series that tells the story of a band of believers during end times. I bought the 11th book, Armageddon the day it came out last week, and let me tell you, this has to be one of the most engaging books in the series. The cashier that rang me up said that she had stopped reading the series as things got too slow for her tastes, but she had heard that the series had been gaining steam as of late. Well, they weren't lying!

If you aren't following Left Behind or if you have lost interest of late, do yourself a favor and rush out to your nearest bookstore and get reading! You're missing out!

Digicam

I bought a digital camera today. I was going to buy the the Nikon Coolpix 2000, but it was out of stock. I ended up getting the Canon S200 (click to view product brochure). This puppy has a sweet form factor and can easily fit into the palm of your hand or shirt pocket. It comes with a set of lithium-ion batteries and charger which is pretty cool. It also supports sound in movie mode.

It comes with a measly 8MB memory card, so I picked up an extra 128MB card as well. Watch out Ansel Adams, here I come!

Started Training

Well, I started training for the 8K that I mentioned in yesterday's post. I was going to start off by jogging and walking 3 miles tonight. Was is the operative word. I don't know what kind of heebie jeebie dust mite thinga mobs set up shop in my clothes, but I don't think I have ever itched the way that I did tonight after I got a little over a mile into my run. It's a good thing that I was running after 10 pm, so I didn't have to offend my neighbors by them witnessing some crazy man reaching inside his shirt and pants to satiate his tortured skin.

It's probably just as well my run was forced short tonight. I only went half the distance that I intended, but it's probably better to ease back into running and to do too little than too much.

Identity Crisis

I didn't think it was possible for a 3 week old baby to have an identity crisis. Take a look at the new pics of Peyton and you'll see what I mean. In one picture he's wearing his thugged out Wu-Wear while in the other he's sporting his snuggly wuggly onesie. What's it going to be Peyton (oh pardon me, M.C. P) ...Blues Clues or P Diddy?

Ah well, he has the rest of his life to figure it out :)

24

24 is out of control. You never know what's going to happen on that show. Tonight they killed the star of the show, Keifer Sutherland. The baddies went too far in their torturing him for information. The show ended with them trying to revive him. They will of course succeed as the show is far too popular for them not to, but the writers still made it work.

As if Keifer's death were not enough, the previews for next week showed one of my favorite characters get pushed off a stairwell and plunge to her death. Time to mailbomb the writers and producers with hate mail :)

Run For Art

We just received a "night run for the arts" brochure in the mail. There will be several events including:

  • Tribune 8K Run

  • 3-Mile Walk

  • 1-Mile Fun Run

  • Art Stroll

I have been trying to get motivated to work out again. This gives me a goal to work towards and it's for a decent cause as the proceeds benefit the Scottsdale Center for the Arts and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

What do you guys think? Should I go for it? It would be my first race. The only problem is that it is on May 17. Considering I have not run consistently in a couple of years, I fear that I would more than be pushing it as I'd have to do the 8K. I'm not walking or strolling and the 1-Mile fun run hardly seems worth the time and gas to drive to the race.

Baby Shower

Theresa threw Judy a baby shower this past Sunday, April 13. Judy had a blast. Fifteen friends and co-workers showed up to celebrate the coming of our little princess.

Judy and I appreciate every last one of you taking time out of your busy schedules to celebrate with us. The gifts are fantastic!

Valerie was kind enough to forward along the pictures she took at the shower.

Welcome To The Family, Peyton!!

Melissa and Tommy were blessed with a beautiful baby boy on March 28, 2003. Welcome to the family, little guy!

I have included an email from Melissa along with a few pics of the new addition below. Sorry it took so long to get these pictures posted everyone.

Hello everyone! Here are some pictures of Peyton Thomas! He was born on 3-28-03 at 10:09 pm. We was 9 lbs and 21 inches (guess it was all that milk I was drinking). Baby, mom and dad are doing well. Miss all of you and hope to see everyone soon!

Melissa
