Saturday, Pt II

My buddy, Brian and I got together directly after the picnic at Chuperosa Park. We met at Famous Sam's where I proceeded to "let" him beat me in a game of pool. Man do I stink :) He had plans for that evening, so we just shot one game and then spent an hour or so catching up. I'll have to go work on my game before we hook up for another game!

Saturday

Judy and I met up with a buddy from work Saturday afternoon for a picnic and playtime for our kids. Paul, his wife Shawn, his two beautiful girls Cameron and Regan, their neighbor Lori and son Jack hooked up with us at Chuperosa Park not too far from work. What a good time we all had. Cameron is only 2-3 months older than Kayla. Jack is one month younger than Kayla at 18 months. The kids had a good time as did the adults. I am not particularly fond on Arizona summers, but this time of year makes it worth it. It was sunny and 78 degrees. I spoke to Tiffany the night before who told me that they expected 4-10 inches of snow overnight. Ha!

Vietnam

Joe and Judy's mom travelled to Vietnam last Monday the 17th. Joe left a phone message tonight. He's having a really good time. Not only does he get to visit his motherland, but has the opportunity to meet his maternal grandmother. How cool is that? Have fun, brother!

Nana and Papa Visit

Nana and Papa came to visit us last week. Oh, who am I kidding? They came to visit Kayla last week! We had a terrific time. Oh my goodness does Kayla love her some Nana and Papa. I'll have to post the movie of Kayla and Papa doing the Hokey Pokey with Elmo. Good stuff!

We hit the park, mall, papa and I bored the ladies watching the NFL playoffs, we managed to get nana turned on to Chipotle burritos, and went to church at Chandler Christian Church where Pastor Storm began the "40 Days of Community" sermon track.

Nana and Papa would like to come back in March. We look forward to having them out again.

Da' Crib.

Woot! Kayla is now sleeping in her crib. The last week of the year is a shutdown week at Orbital. Judy and I decided to take advantage of my having the week off by "training" Kayla to sleep in her crib. Yep, she was still sleeping with mom and dad.

She has exceeded our expectations. She slept in her crib the very first night. It took 1+ hrs for her to get to sleep, but she slept more than half way through the night in her crib. She woke up during the night crying, so we ended up putting in bed with us. Still, she did very well.

Unfortunately, she still wakes up crying during the night. Her crib is in the our bedroom, so "letting her cry it out" is simply not an option! We just let her spend the rest of the night with us.
